Spent the morning touring the beautiful town of Segovia. Saw the castle (like something out of Disney), the cathedral (amazing beyond belief), and the aqueduct (huge to say the least). It felt weird to walk around without a backpack. We also got our pilgrims passport stamped at the tourist office and the cathedral where they gave us free admission to tour because we are pilgrims.
Here are some pics
Left town around 1 for a casual 3 kilometer stroll north to Zammarala for a free place to sleep. We started from last nights hotel so add 2 kilometers and add another two for missing a turn. 7 kilometers, which is 4.8 miles and it felt like a stroll. Here is a pic of the skyline from the castle toward Zammarala
Here is the reverse from Zammarala looking toward Segovia
The alberque we are staying at looks brand new. 20 bunks per room, 2 rooms.
It has a shower with hot hot water and enough pressure to strip paint!
It has a full kitchen with dishes, a microwave and a fridge. We can fill our water bags and leave them in the fridge over night so we have hold water in the morning.
A local restaurant has wifi and a low priced pilgrims meal so we are eating there while I update the blog. We got a ton of pics, especially in the cathedral.
Barb, we lit a votive and prayed for you in the cathedral, as promised.
Tomorrow is a long day of 31 kilometers again but without the mountains. If it starts to hurt to much I found an alberque about 22 kilometers in. The town we are heading towards is Santa Maria la Real de Nieva.

Pretty princess Austin!
