Day 4 - Cercedilla to Segovia

Long, tiring, irritating day.

Today we had to cross the mountains. Oh my god was it steep but the path is through a national park which was very pretty.

Of course we got to see a road created by the Romans over a thousand years ago
And a bridge that still works

But we had to walk on that road for a kilometer and it was rough
But we finally made it to the top
Where Austin posed with a memorial to a guy who helped build the camino branch into Madrid
The other side looked the same
We had walked 31 kilometers which is our longest walk. Up a mountain which made it twice as hard. We are both in pain from this and we arrive at the address for the Carmelite convent that we are sleeping at to discover it is gone!!!
We called and they no longer offer the service.

So then with feet that feel like they are on fire we trudged downtown and got the first motel we could find.

Tomorrow is a rest day which is good because I am exhausted.
