Several villages along the route made this 25 kilometer walk seem easy. I discovered that my favorite drink cafe con leche comes in different sizes. I through the word Grande at the end of my order and we got BIG cafe con leche!
The alberque in this town is beautiful! Looks brand new and better than most homes. Tile floors and wood beams everywhere. Their is even a washing machine that costs one euro so laundry was easy.
Those pics were for Barb. I know you want pics of the towns so that's about what it looks like here.
Speaking of laundry, there is a daily routine we have developed.
Wake about 630, eat breakfast if it is provided and hit the road by 7.
Stop at the first town with a cafe and get our cafe con leche
Stop at every village we pass to sit a minute and rest
Between 1230 and 400 get to our town, find the alberque and check on.
Do laundry and hang to dry immediately.
Find a store for supplies
Cook dinner if kitchen is available otherwise find a cheap dinner.
Go to bed by 1000.
That is our daily routine including stops on the trail to eat some apples or bread and drink orange juice from juice boxes.
Here are some maps of Castile y Leon, the area we have been traveling through. We started in Zamora and are now in the town circled at the top.
